Culturally Impacted
Humanity isn’t doing well these days. We haven’t done well for many years. We don't function well. The work of Iain McGilchrist has investigated this fact. (I'll address more on that later.) Combine this with our spiritual deficits and shame-based systems we live in; we now can only utilize half of our brain's capabilities to interpret and communicate our worldview. Our ability to understand the real world, our society, and our failing relationships are lacking because of this. Our planet was invaded centuries ago, and we are increasingly feeling the impact of those events today.
A spiritual invasion of the planet had its genesis in an earlier time. Take a look at the flood narrative/story/history. Archeology suggests the flood occurred about 5,000 BC. Read the account. It describes a time when humanity had lost its way. Humans at the time created a society (or it was created for them) that exhibited no moral compass. The Bible tells us in the book of Genesis, "When the Lord saw how great the wickedness of human beings was on earth, and how every desire that their hearts conceived was always nothing but evil, the Lord regretted creating human beings on the earth, and his heart was grieved." Gen. 6:5-6 But looking at the previous verse, it tells us how this mess got its start. The Genesis writer is telling us about an event unheard of before. The last verses tell the story of fallen angels descending to our planet and getting sexually involved with the women of the day and the offspring, the Nephilim, who became the "heroes of old, the men of renown." Angels are descending on our planet for the sake of having sex with the beautiful women of the time, and it just so happens their offspring will be known as the men of renown, heroes of the day. The stuff mythology is made of, If I may, “What the hell"!
Now, in the current times, we know the Nephilim race has passed on, but we were told that at the time of their death, their spirits became the demonic spirits we are confronted with today. And it is suggested that the modern-day Marxist movement was designed by the demonic spirits mentioned as the principalities, powers, and rulers in the Bible. They managed to work through men like Karl Marx to create an evil plan to subvert the human race, and they are good at what they do.
So, let's go back to the narrative in Genesis. It became clear that God had no choice but to clean the slate and take out the humans he created with a conscience and freedom of choice for their lives. And they chose greed and selfishness, sin. Human ontology was revealed. Since our expulsion from the garden, at our request, our sinful identity, our false self has been running amok on the planet, the world, and destruction is in our wake.
This is a bit of a ramble, but my point is this. Modern humanity isn't doing well. We aren't doing well emotionally or spiritually. Especially since the pandemic swept our planet, we have one more thing to cause us to fear and panic. Divorce rates are at an all-time high, and relationships have been suffering for many years. And the conclusions of McGilchrist's work demonstrate that post-modern humanity isn't functioning well. We use half of our brain. The other half has been rendered useless. Empathy and intuition have left our menu of options to make it through a day. We have become rational beings that get through life with a specialization of purpose to pay the bills and own a house. Entirely mechanical, I might add. Relationships don't function under this system. How could they? We are operating like robots, doing the job well and put away in a locker for the next day's work.
We are promised abundant life. A life of love, joy, peace, faith, and intimate and vulnerable relationships with our family and children. This is the promise from God, yet so few will ever know this in their personal life. We are lost. The culture is destroying us. The infiltrators have had their way.
Time to take a closer look at our society and culture and the war to take us down.
